Karibu Tanzania – Welcome to Tanzania. On arrival at the airport you will be met by one of our staff members. After greet and meet services he will escort you to your accommodation in Moshi (approx. 45 Km). If your flight arrives early during the day, you will have a chance to see view the majestic giant (Kilimanjaro) slopes and you can make several stops to take photographs.
Overnight: Bristol Cottages – Dinner included

Day 2: Marangu Gate (1980m) to Mandara hut (2700m)
After breakfast drive from Moshi to the Kilimanjaro gate takes (45 min). The journey passes through the village of Marangu, located on the lower slopes of the mountain. You leave the Park gate and ascend on a cleared ridge trail through the rain forest. The forest, suffused with mist and dripping with beards of moss, is also where most of Kilimanjaro’s animals are found. An alternative and more scenic parallel forest trail branches off to the left a few minutes after the gate. This trail follows the edge of a stream through the undergrowth and offers you the option to rejoin the main trail either after 1.5 hours hiking, or 1 hour before Mandara hut.
Your first night stop, Mandara hut, is a group of wooden framed huts in a forest clearing. Each hut features 6-8 sleeping bunks. The total capacity of the camp is 60 climbers. Water is piped into the camp from springs above and there are flush toilets behind the main hut.

Hiking time: 5h
Distance: Approx. 12kms
Habitat: Montane forest.
Overnight: Mandara Hut – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 3: Mandara hut (2700) to Horombo hut (3720m)
From Mandara hut the trail passes through a short stretch of forest, then skirts the base of the Maundi Crater and then emerges into the transition from rain forest to moorland. It is well worth a short detour to scramble up the rim of the Maundi Crater for your first really impressive view of the Kibo Crater. On a clear day Kibo will glimmer in the distance, showing off her majestic glaciers in the morning sun. Once you are in the open moorland you will get the chance to see some of Kilimanjaro’s most spectacular plants – the endemic giant lobelia which grows up to 3 m in height and the giant groundsel (Senecia Kilimanjari) which can reach heights of 5m! After about 6 hours from here you reach the Horombo hut, where you will have hot washing water, rest and evening meal and overnight.

Hiking time: 6h
Distance: Approximately 15kms
Habitat: Moorland.
Overnight: Horombo Hut – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 4: Horombo hut (3720m) to Marangu gate (1980m)
After breakfast, a steady descent takes us down through moorland to the Mandara Hut. Continue descending through lush forest path to the National Park gate at Marangu. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and t-shirts will probably be plenty to wear (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy).
A vehicle will meet you at Marangu village to drive you back to your hotel in Moshi

Hiking time: 4-5h
Distance: 20 Kms.
Habitat: Moorland Forest.
Overnight: Bristol Cottages – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5: On to Lake Manyara
After breakfast you depart for Lake Manyara National Park (approx 203 Km) with en-route views. Nestling at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, A beautiful park, Lake Manyara contains a diverse range of habitats and topographical features ranging from the rift wall, ground water forest, acacia woodlands and open grasslands to the shores of Lake Manyara and the lake itself. Have afternoon game viewing in the park searching for the diverse flora and fauna of the park. There are some 350 different bird species in the park. The park provides sanctuary to a variety of animals such as the gazelle, impala, buffalo, wildebeest, hyena, baboon, giraffe, hippo and the famous tree-climbing lions that are unique to the Lake. The park is generally recognized for its incredible beauty.

Day 6: Drive to Serengeti Via Ngorongoro
The legendary Serengeti Plain is your destination today (210 km), a vast rolling plain whose sparse vegetation allows for some of the best wildlife viewing in the world. The annual migration of wildebeest and zebra is one of the park’s great attractions, but throughout the year the Serengeti is excellent for seeing predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah, along with elephant, giraffe, hyena, hippo, rhino, and many varieties of antelopes and birds. Depending with animal movement we can arrange packed lunch or go back to the lodge for hot lunch. The evening is free to rest.
Overnight: Kati Kati tented camp – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 7: Full Day in the endless plains of Serengeti
Today we enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing drives on the vast Serengeti plains. In the early morning and evening light, the Serengeti landscape is stunningly beautiful. The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, including more than three million large mammals. The park is one that can never disappoint. One is spoilt by the variety of bird and wildlife species in this game reserve. Enjoy dinner and overnight at our camp.

Its the largest intact caldera in the world teams with an abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor. Prides of lions, herds of Cape buffalo, impala, Thompson gazelles, rhino, golden and black backed jackal, zebra, cheetah, leopard and the spotted hyena freely roam on the crater floor plains. Unmatched for its natural variety and breath taking beauty, there are few places on earth where such a tremendous diversity of landscapes exist inside a region this size. Apart from its wildlife riches, the crater is also home to hundreds of bird species, refreshing in the small lakes in the crater floor. Later in the afternoon we ascend and drive to our game lodge for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Country lodge Karatu – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
